DK Racing – 2010 E.M.R.A. F2 Sidecar Champions!

Congratulations to Dave Kimberley and Rob Bell for winning the 2010 E.M.R.A. F2 Sidecar Championship! Dave & Rob finished the season on the DK Racing / Just Landscapes / hancoxart.com / Ireson Honda outfit with a winning margin of 17 points.

John has produced an original watercolour painting of Dave and Rob, charging through Tower Bends during this years Isle of Man TT races where they enjoyed well deserved, top-ten finishes in both sidecar A and B races.

The original painting was presented to Dave by John earlier today. We’re very grateful to Dave for carrying the hancoxart.com name on his sidecar and we’re proud to be associated with DK Racing.

For Sail / For Sale!

As well as his talent at the drawing board, John’s an expert model maker!

John recently exhibited his ‘scratch-built’, radio-controlled, scale model of the three masted topsail schooner ‘Lizzie May’ which was duly awarded the Henry Booth Trophy for best in show!

The real ‘Lizzie May’ (built in 1900) is the last remaining vessel of its kind still sailing and was renamed the ‘Kathleen & May’ in 1908 . For more information follow this link to the ships website: www.kathleenandmay.co.uk

It’s not just an ornament either, the model has been in the water on several occasions and looks splendid under sail!

The model is now up for sale to make some room for Johns next project; a 4 foot long, radio controlled, Thames Sailing Barge!

Please get in touch through our contact page if you’d like to make this award winning model yours!

Great Dorset Steam Fair 2010

At this years Great Dorset Steam Fair, the National Traction Engine Trust are hosting an exhibition of John Hancox original drawings and paintings, some of which will be available for sale and John will be on hand throughout the event to chat with visitors about his work on display.

It’s the first time for over 30 years that John won’t have a trade stand at the show but our greetings cards, prints and postcards will be available to purchase from Shakepeares Rally Promotions who can be found on the corner between the Model Tent and Real Ale Tent (by the main entrance car park on the Blandford side – not in the trade line).

As well as his art, John’s also exhibiting his 1946 ‘Model 18’ Norton vintage motorcycles section, so keep and eye (and an ear) out for him!

One of the main features of this years event will be a special gathering of ‘McLaren’ steam engines. To mark the occasion, the Great Dorset Steam Fair have commissioned John to produce some special artwork which will be available for sale on t-shirts and other merchandise during the show.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair takes place over 5 days between Wednesday 1st September and Sunday 5th September and is one of the largest outdoor events in Europe.
